Fronted by Fenne Kuppens with her black-as-night voice and maniacal stage presence, Whispering Sons are a five-piece goth rock outfit from Brussels. Having won the Humo’s Rock Rally, Belgium most prestigious rock competition, in 2016, the group recorded their debut album Image and released it to critical acclaim in Belgium late last year. The album entered their official album charts at No.6 and this gloriously dark and addictive track is their lead single, which received massive support on their native radio stations. With its infectious indie guitar riff fueling the Twin Peaks and almost Sisters of Mercy atmospherics of Alone, it’s of no surprise that this has gone down well and that the band have been nominated three times for a Music Industry Award (or MIA, the local Grammy Awards). Having toured with The Soft Moon in Spain and Portugal last October followed by their own European headline tour, they caught the attention of fashion designer Raf Simons who invited them to perform at his AW19 Paris fashion show, where they were spotted by Naomi Campbell, among others. Later this month they bring their show to the UK for a 7 date tour of the UK, including a show at the Lexington in London on 30 March. So if you are free, we recommend you check out one of the most exciting emerging bands from Brussels.
