We have been keeping tabs on London based duo Ferris & Sylvester ever since we heard their sublime London Blues track back in January. Consisting of Issy Ferris and Archie Sylvester, the duo met as solo musicians in the thriving Camden music scene over two years ago and soon caught the ear of legendary producer Youth (Paul McCartney/The Verve), who recorded their first EP, The Yellow Line. Their followup EP, Made in Streatham, topped the iTunes singer-songwriter charts earlier this year and has since amassed over 2m combined streams to date. Now they are back with this rousing and anthemic country-infused folk number, full of beautiful harmonies, rich blues riffs, and captivating percussion. Produced by Michael Rendall (Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Echo & The Bunnymen) and released today (19 October), Burning River was immediately added to Spotify's New Music Friday UK playlist. Other early support has come from BBC Introducing in Devon and Cornwall, who have helped them gain live spots at Wilderness Festival and are taking them on a tour across the south west shortly. Previous tastemaker support has included Spotify (Your Coffee Break, Very Nearly Nashville), BBC Radio 2, 6 Music and BBC Introducing. In November, they will be playing a number of London shows, but we recommend if you get a chance to catch them at either Union Chapel (8 November) or the Electric Ballroom (16 November). You'll not be disappointed.
