18 year old Millie Turner from Hackney swapped her paintbrush for the recording studio two years ago and ever since has been on an upward trajectory with every glorious release. Her debut EP, Eyes On You, drew early tastemaker support from the likes of the Line Of Best Fit, Fader, Wonderland, Noisey and Clash, and has so far clocked up over 4.5m combined Spotify streams. She Was A Dancer, her infectious follow up, received her first radio spin on BBC Radio 1, and now we have this luscious new single Night Running, an elegantly blissful late night pop banger, full of soothing synth hooks and a pulsating club beat. It's already picked up a spin on the Jack Saunders show on Radio 1 and last week featured on 12 Spotify New Music Friday playlists, as well as nine editorial playlists, including a cover feature for New Pop Revolution. Last Wednesday, she sold out her first monthly residency spot at Hackney’s Paper Dress Vintage and will return for two further shows on 14 November and 5 December, while on 27 November she will be playing the Great Escape’s First Fifty showcase at the Courtyard Theatre. Effortlessly cool and addictive, this is quite simply sublime from a rising star and one to watch for in 2019.
