Can't Dance

Artist: Kelli-Leigh ft Art Bastian
Label: Music Core
Impact date: Out Now
ROTD featured date: Tuesday 21 August 2018

We say

South Londoner Kelli-Leigh is no stranger to the Top 40, having sung vocals on two No.1 smashes I Got You with Duke Dumont ft Jax Jones and Secondcity’s I Wanna Feel, along with featuring on last year’s Top 10 hit More Than Friends with James Hype that has now racked up more than 75m Spotify streams. She’s also a fantastic songwriter who has co-written hits with Low Steppa (Runnin’, 21m streams) and Duke Dumont (Be Here, 13m streams). Now she follows up her debut solo track Do You Wanna Be Loved Like This? released earlier this year with this emotionally charged dance number that perfectly shows off her powerful and unforgettable vocals. Released on her own label, Music Core, and co-produced with Art Bastian, Can’t Dance is a big house record that starts off with a moving piano ballad motif and builds into an infectious and soulful dancefloor filler with a massive drop. Over the weekend, Radio 1 Dance Anthems supported the release with two spins from Mistajam and Jordan North alongside plays from Gaydio and RTE Ireland. Destined for further mainstream radio plays and additions to editorial streaming dance playlists, Can’t Dance is a future hit in the making and no doubt will be blasting out of speakers across this weekend’s Notting Hill Carnival and Manchester Pride where she will be performing. An addictive banger that deserves to be massive.
