We say

Upbeat yet melancholic, this sublime new single from Iceland's purveyors of electronic dream-pop Vök is a rather gorgeous affair. Produced by James Earp (Nina Nesbitt, Shells, Little Hours), it’s their first new material since the release of their debut album, Figure last year and sees a subtle shift in tempo, as the trio leave their downbeat sound behind for vibrant and blissful synth-heavy pop melodies and vocal hooks. Lyrically though, it tells a story of a relationship heading in different directions with singer Margrét Rán's vocals capturing the emotion beautifully. With a sound ripe for syncs in American TV series and films, Autopilot has already garnered online praise from the likes of Noisey and Black Plastic, as well as featured in Spotify’s New Music Friday (UK & Iceland) and Indie Pop editorial playlists. Previous tastemaker support has come from the Line of Best Fit, Mojo, John Kennedy (Radio X), Tom Ravenscroft (6 Music), Huw Stephens, and Phil Taggart (Radio 1). The band are currently working on writing and recording their second album due for release in early 2019 and have been confirmed to play Iceland Airwaves 2018, having earlier this year completed their biggest headline European tour to date. Fresh, melodic and poppy, Autopilot is the perfect taster into their nocturnal electronica version 2.0.
