We say

A City United by Manchester band Prose (featuring Manchester Survivors Choir) is a responsive piece of music to mark one year since the terrible Manchester Arena bomb attack. Like everyone, Mike and Lee from the band felt devastated after the terror attack and during the course of the following day started to express how they were feeling through music. After encouragement from their family and friends, the duo then uploaded the basis of the song to the band’s Facebook page for their fans only. Months later, Andy Burnham, Mayor of the city, heard the track live at a homeless benefit event and asked if they would be interested in releasing it to mark the anniversary, with the proceeds going to the Manchester Emergency Fund and Peace Foundation. With approval from the families involved, the band agreed and Andy Burnham tweeted the link to their video, which soon garnered over 120k views, as well as support from across the country. Having watched the video, the Manchester Survivors Choir contacted the band to see if they could be involved, which resulted in them visiting to the studio to record. Mixed by Elbow’s Craig Potter and mastered by Peter Hewitt Dutton, the single is a gloriously heartfelt song that epitomises the very soul of Manchester and deserves all the attention as possible. A moving and beautiful number.
