We say

Love Ssega is a south London producer and singer who likes to do things his own way. Originally a founding member and songwriter for Clean Bandit (he left to complete his PhD), the British-Ugandan artist is back with this powerful and thoughtful single and visual release. Taken from last year’s Emancipation! EP, Subtle Tease combines his distinctive vocals and considered lyricism about modern-day social observations with a tribalistic beat and an addictive off-kilter production. It’s fresh with a sense of importance that is further highlighted in his video as the narrative of the song runs alongside clips from 1960s America. Tastemaker support has come from the likes of BBC Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart), 6Music, Beats 1, Stereogum, Notion, Mixmag, DIY, Amazon, Deezer and Noisey. Poignant and infectious, Love Ssega is an artist who’s not shy to share his views about society and this is a track deserving to be shared far and wide. This May will see him performing at Live at Leeds, Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape Festival. Enigmatic afrobeat infused indie dance.
