We say

Released this coming Friday, Expectations, is the new single from Newcastle-based four-piece The Old Pink House and it’s an absolute belter. Queens of the Stone Age style fuzzed-up riffs collide with the band’s 70’s disco influences to create a delicious cosmic pop concoction filled with sugar-soaked hooks and swirling synth melodies. Previous singles including Talk, which we featured, have garnered radio support from Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart at Radio 1, plus tastemaker support from Clash, DIY, and Spotify who included them in their Hot New Bands editorial playlist. Having honed their energetic live show during 2017 with two sold-out hometown gigs and support slots with The Amazons, Anteros, The Cribs, and Manic Street Preachers, the band have built up a solid word of mouth buzz and are preparing for their first gigs of 2018 with appearances at Live at Leeds and When In Manchester festival. Taken from their forthcoming debut EP out later this year, Expectations is another superb addition to their catalogue of tracks and one that deserves to take them to the next level.
