Currently unsigned but already a regular on the Sofar Sounds circuit across the country, Rose Betts is a singer-songwriter based in south London, whose optimistic upbeat music feels ripe for sync right now. Written following a disagreement with her twin sister, it's her third single and follows on from her debut Orange Trees (launched with a sold-out performance at London’s Courtyard Theatre) and I Can Never Give You My Heart, which picked up plays from BBC Introducing. Last year saw the release of her debut EP The Stars Look Down, and she’s demoing tunes right now for an album. One song we’ve already heard called Losing Streak is particularly noteworthy. Sofar Sounds founder Rafe Offer is quoted as saying ‘you just melt when you listen to this woman sing’, and he’s right. There’s a quirkiness and charm to her vocal delivery and lyricism. Take a look at the simple but engaging video for this song too, shot using just an iPhone 6. Musically, it's gimmick-free, timeless, cosy and inclusive, proving Rose has an obvious knack for being able to create quality music that connects.
