Loving You Is So Easy
Wide Eyed Boy are a four-piece who formed in Liverpool when they were studying at Paul McCartney’s LIPA, an institution with a growing reputation for finding and nurturing young talent (it includes Frances and Dan Croll amongst the alumni). Comprising of two Brits, one Aussie and a German, they bonded over a mutual admiration for the incredible music output of Bowie and Michael Jackson, alongside more recent Scouse favourites The Wombats, The Zutons and Circa Waves. Having supported Feeder on a recent tour, and fresh from a bunch of German headline shows and festival slots, we’re seriously impressed by this second single of theirs, produced by Rich Turvey, who's scored huge acclaim with Blossoms. It recently premiered by Clash, with Dave Monks at BBC Introducing Merseyside and Gary Crowley at BBC London both loyal supporters too. Catch them live in London on July 27 at the Old Queen’s Head. Oliver Nagy’s lead vocals are striking here right from the off, with a chugging rhythmic bassline underpinning things, before it leads to one of those great anthemic choruses that positively soars when it takes off, lodging itself in your brain. There’s much to admire, so watch them closely.
