We say

Alexander Wolfe is an English singer-songwriter whose work since 2010 has been compelling throughout. He wrote his debut album Morning Brings A Flood and painstakingly layered much of the instrumentation on it himself. Two years later his Skeletons album was a much more stripped-back acoustic affair, and led to him writing and performing in The Trench, a critically acclaimed play that debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe. Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman Huey Morgan featured on his 2014 album From The Shadows, and now he’s gearing up for a new album in 2017 with this excellent track. Wolfe was the support act to another Record of the Day featured act Anderson East at his Bush Hall Communion show on Tuesday night (September 6) and more London dates are lined up between now and the end of next month. With echoes of early Travis from their hugely successful The Man Who period back in the late 90’s, combined with a great horn section, this acoustic waltz cleverly melds together country, folk and soul influences into one heady brew. This track is very tasty indeed.
