We say

With a track that’s both powerful and compelling right from the off, Bryde is the alias of musician Sarah Howells, formerly of the band Paper Aeroplanes. Her debut solo single Wait was released in January and picked up plays from Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Tom Robinson at 6Music and BBC Introducing. Now this excellent second single from her forthcoming EP1 sees her pour out all of her inner fire and passion for us all to hear, thanks to a fabulous vocal reminiscent of Tori Amos at her most confessional. Production comes from Jolyon Thomas, whose recent work has included Slaves debut album and Daughter’s If You Leave. She’s been compared to several other strong, no-nonsense songwriters like Anna Calvi and Fiona Apple, and has already had glowing reviews for her work from The Line Of Best Fit, Earmark, When The Gramophone Rings, Idolator and French blog Les Inrocks. Tonight (March 16) you can catch her live in London when she supports Steven Adam James at his sold-out St Pancras Old Church show. Honest and potent throughout, this is an impressive track.
