Drifting in like a warm summer breeze through an open window, this beautifully simple acoustic track from Whicher is an absolute delight. Ed Whicher is a 28-year old singer songwriter from south east England who submitted this to us directly and just asked what we thought. He’s spent the best part of his musical career so far playing as a drummer but got in touch after finally plucking up the courage to get in the spotlight and try his hand at singing. We’re glad he did. His influences like Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson and James Bay are clearly evident on this lovely song, but we could honestly hear him hold his own among any of those contemporary peers with a track as strong as this. Reflective but positive at the same time, it comes from a self-released EP We Are Elephants. released at the end of 2015 and two of the three songs on it were picked up locally by BBC Introducing as Tracks Of The Day. Now he’s looking for a manager and live representation to take him to the next level. Give this a listen. We’re sure you’ll adore it as much as we do, then immediately want to play it over and over.
