Now and again a track comes along that makes you just want to play it to all your friends as you’re 100% sure they’ll adore it. This incredible song from Hagar Levy is currently making us do just that and comes from her forthcoming self-titled debut album. She grew up in the Belgian city of Antwerp through to the age of 15, writing songs on the piano influenced by strong female artists such as PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple and Erykah Badu. You’ll hear a soulful, strong, gritty, passionate edge to her voice, often with a folk-tinged vibe to it. We love how the perfectly-paced track builds, from the imposing march of the bassline and drums at the start, through to the full-blown electric guitar workout towards the end. She’ll be out on the road across Germany, Belgium and Holland in the spring before finally heading to the UK to play some dates in summer 2016. Believe us, this is a remarkable song, which we truly believe has every essential element in place to be an absolute global playlist smash. Tell everyone you know and insist they listen to it - this single is astonishing.
