We say

Having signed a new deal with Heavenly through Cooperative Records, The Magic Numbers make a welcome return with their third studio album this summer. Produced by Romeo with help from Valgeir Sigurdsson (Bjork, Bonnie Prince Billy, Múm) and mixed by Ben Hillier (Doves, Elbow, Blur), the album features orchestral arrangements from the late Robert Kirby (Nick Drake, Elvis Costello and Vashti Bunyan) making this the final project he completed. Album opener and first single The Pulse is a lush taste of what to expect from the follow-up to 2006's 'Those The Brokes'. The Guardian's Will Hodgkinson wrote that it's a 'stunning' song 'suffused with melancholic elegance' when he reviewed their gig at Wilton's Music Hall in London earlier this year. A 4-track live EP recorded at that gig comes free with limited editions of the album. A full UK tour begins in June. JF London gig: April 22, The Pigalle W1 (20:30)
