The first single from the follow-up to Frightened Rabbit's acclaimed 2008 album The Midnight Organ Fight marks a turning point for the Scottish band. It's more dramatic and immediate than what has come before from them but still retains what NME calls their "quixotic blend of folk-rock melodies". It's a gorgeous song to return with. The great string arrangements come from labelmate Hauschka. Having recently headlined Drowned In Sound’s 9th birthday party at In The City and supported Biffy Clyro in London, further supports with Gomez and Modest Mouse are coming up. An album is due in next Spring - on this evidence 2010 could be theirs for the taking. JF
