Count Fisher, the project of Max McElligott, has been pricking up the ears of the industry lately. Credit due to McElligott, who writes the songs, that all the material we've heard so far showcases a panache for clever and catchy pop songs similar to those artists he quotes as influences on MySpace (which ranges from Talking Heads to Peter Gabriel and Fleetwood Mac).
