We first featured Akala in June of last year with the brilliant Shakespeare from It's Not A Rumour, his critically acclaimed self-released debut album. In the year since, he has opened for the likes of Jay-Z, DJ Shadow and Christina Aguilera and he won a MOBO for best hip hop artist. This is the first track made available from his forthcoming follow-up, which will be out on his DIY label Illa State in September. Most of what we've heard of the new material was during one scintillating set at this year's Camden Crawl, and we liked it a lot - punk, rap, rock and electro all merging into one sharp hybrid sound.
