Swedish alternative jazz virtuoso Ebba Åsman continues to prove herself as one of the most forward-thinking voices in her field with this pulsating new collaboration with Polish-born D&B producer/DJ Satl. Originally released in January as the title track to Åsman’s brilliant third studio album on Dorado Records, 'When You Know' was a slow-burning fusion of jazz, neo-soul, ambient electronica and lo-fi hip-hop, framed by intimate lyrics on uncertainty and acceptance. Satl has now reimagined it as a futuristic, club-ready cut, weaving jungle and alt-R&B textures into his trademark D&B. The remix follows Åsman’s recent collaboration with Ikonika and arrives off the back of her widely praised LP, supported by Dazed, Colors, Clash, Uproxx, Blues & Soul, Echoes Magazine, BBC Radio 6 and Jazz FM. With a Swedish Grammy nomination, Yamaha ambassadorship and appearances at North Sea Jazz, Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Cafe and Sweden’s Way Out West festival, Åsman is cementing her reputation as a true “jazz rebel”. This team-up with Satl only magnifies her restless creativity and boundary-defying spirit.
