WE SAY
Track Of The Day today (June 11) at Radio 1 and now added to the station’s C-list, we first became aware of this glorious single from Petite Meller back in February when the colourful video which was shot in Kenya went up online. Since then, we’ve played it constantly. Meller has a French background but is now based in the UK and emerged early last year via the uber-cool British label Nightbeach with a pair of limited release singles that found keen support from 6 Music, XFM and Radio 1. With a growing army of fans and love for the track from Annie Mac and Huw Stephens, this is the song to rapidly take things to the next level. It’s bright, hugely infectious, gloriously celebratory and genuinely one of our favourite pop songs of 2015 so far. Remixes come from Armand Van Helden and Todd Terry and her next live gig in London is Sink The Pink’s Pride After Party at Shoreditch House on June 27 with Latitude and Reading/Leeds to follow later this summer. Light the blue touch paper - this one’s about to go off like a rocket.
