Viktor, Nichlas and Maríe Louise are the Danish trio Noréll, and today (September 23) sees the release of their second single, an instantly engaging electro-pop gem. They all met by chance in Copenhagen and connected musically right from the start, with the boys taking care of production and instrumentation of their sound, and Marie Louise providing the distinctive vocals. If you’re looking for comparisons and references, we’d say it’s a fabulous blend of the best bits you love from Years & Years and Chvrches. It’s all very much built around synth sounds and hooks with a tasty pop sensibility that tips a nod to modern R&B, but remains uniquely Nordic in its construction. As we’ve said so many times before, Scandi acts are the masters of this in 2016. Hopefully we’ll see them play live in London soon but if you’re around Copenhagen on October 8, they play Vega in the city that evening. Bitter-sweet lyrics, a driving dance rhythm, and a chorus loaded with earworms all combine to make this a truly magical single. We can't wait to hear more.
