This Is Not A Love Song (ft. Samantha Rawlings)
WE SAY
It’s always a joy when tracks arrive via our inbox from self-released artists and musicians, then we play and discover they’re really good, like this from London-based Keypad. This talented chap has a background as a writer and producer but has launched the new project this month, set up the label imprint himself, financed it and got this debut single up and running on more than 200 digital services around the world. And it’s a great solid start too. The song is something of a bittersweet tale of lost love, all blissed-out and very much in the style of Jonas Blue’s current reworking of Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car, or that much-loved worldwide smash Prayer In C by Lilly Wood that was remixed by Robin Schulz a couple of summers ago. Dreamy vocals by Samantha Rawlings float over an addictive saxophone hook and we can imagine it'll sound just perfect as the sun goes down on a red-hot day almost anywhere in the world over the coming months. Instantly engaging, this has undoubted global appeal, we reckon.
