Released on her own imprint, but currently seeking a label and live representation, Scarlet is a talented musician you must keep a keen eye on. She began writing songs at the age of 14 and taught herself guitar before becoming a classically-trained singer and pianist. Whist she attended BRIT School, she was a member of an alternative rock band shortlisted for Sony/ATV’s Best Songwriter award. Since graduating, she’s gigged relentlessly in London, bagged a publishing deal, and released this first single from her forthcoming EP Phoenix which will be with us during the summer. It’s very early days for her but already Tom Robinson at 6 Music and Amazing Radio are supporters along with the team at BBC Radio Cambridge, and a recent live session there has led to her being invited to perform on the BBC Introducing Stage at the Secret Garden Party on July 21. X is a gorgeous track musically and vocally, as she pours her emotions out whilst sharing with us the personal story of young love that she can’t quite let go of. Watch her blossom, bloom and glow throughout 2016.
