Josh Wheatley
Runaway

unsigned

WE SAY

We're sure you’ll be immediately impressed by this great track from Josh Wheatley, an unsigned 21-year-old songwriter from Nottingham. His journey began when he put his law studies at university on hold and instead pursued his real passion in music. It’s evident here that he's made a canny decision. This beautiful, heartfelt song, produced by Ed Turner, blends several music styles. Acoustic sounds rub shoulders alongside modern electronic production beats, and vocally Josh reminds us at times of the soulful pop delivery and harmonics you often get from tracks featuring Danny O’Donoghue from The Script. Lyrically, it’s a personal and relatable tale of wanting to escape from whatever fears are trapped inside the listener, perhaps love, depression, anger or simply a need to move on in life. Having already caught the attention of Clash and Radio 2’s Janice Long, a host of producers are now lining up to work with him. Currently seeking label and publishing interest, this confident and honest song already shows Josh to be an artist with integrity who needs to be on your radar going forward.
