Alan Walker
Alone

Relentless Records / Sony Music

WE SAY

It’s exactly a year since we featured Faded, the debut hit for Northampton-born Alan Walker. One of the first artists to break through the international gaming scene, that song spent 22 weeks inside the UK Top 40, is a BRIT-nominated Best British Single tomorrow (February 22), achieved platinum status here, and just topped one billion worldwide Spotify streams. Now comes his next monster and it’s already notched up close to 100 million streams even before it takes off in the UK. Featuring vocals from Swedish singer Noonie Bao (who we’ve also featured a couple of times over the past 18 months), it’s a song whose lyrics speak of the comfort in solidarity and inclusiveness. Having just wrapped up his European tour, played to massive 10k+ crowds in Asia and soon to hit the US, the video blends global footage with fan-submitted clips, and has already been seen a staggering 175 million times on YouTube. Upbeat and full of optimism, Walker again demonstrates here that he’s clearly found a winning formula with his musical output and this instantly catchy pop nugget sounds absolutely huge.
