Caity Baser
Kiss You

EMI Records/Chosen Music

WE SAY

Finishing our Ones to Watch 2023 for this week is the funny, loud and outspoken Caity Baser. The 20 year old Brighton artist first broke out onto the scene in the summer of 2019 with her Lil CB mixtape, an addictive selection of honest, no-holds-barred lyrical gems that drew the attention of Jack Saunders (Next Wave) and Molly King (Best New Pop) at Radio 1, along with the Observer and thousands of TikTok users. We first featured her in March 2022 after we fell head over heels for her lyrically witty and joyously naughty pop earworm Friendly Sex. We followed it up with another feature for her addictive doo-wop tinged single X & Y and now she is back with this pop gem. Premiered as Radio 1 Future Bop yesterday (24 November), Kiss You is the latest single from Caity, who announced this release at her two sold-out headline shows at XOYO earlier this month. Along the way, Caity has drawn praise for honest and contagious pop melodies from the Line of Best Fit, Notion, Independent, Clash, Rolling Stone UK and Dork, to name just a few, as well as being named as NME’s Radar Breakout star. With over 30m views on TikTok, radio support from BBC Radio 1 BBC Introducing and Capital FM already behind her and DSP support at Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, Caity has built up some serious tastemaker support for her music. Add that to her growing fanbase (over 4,000 tickets sold this year), her knack for writing fun pop bangers and her vibrant energy. We believe she has everything in place to see her become a star in 2023.
