WE SAY
Kickstarting our Ones To Watch 2023 is rising Canadian singer/songwriter Olivia Lunny. The alt-pop artist first came to our attention last spring when we featured her melancholic but gloriously poppy blast of alt-pop goodness Sad To See You Happy. Prior to this, the Winnipeg native had already broken out on the Canadian music scene in 2019 after scoring a Top 40 hit with her single, I Got You, and having won the Young Canadian Songwriter Award from the SOCAN Foundation. In 2020, she inked her label deal with Universal Music Canada/Virgin Music and released her debut EP, To The Ones I Loved, followed by her self-titled album in 2021. With over 20m combined streams, her music has drawn acclaim from numerous tastemakers, including iHeartRadio, Billboard, Nylon, Official Charts, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube Music. Packing an emotional punch, along with its breezy pop hooks and infectious nature, WONDERLAND is the latest release from Olivia and continues to prove why we think she’s got what it takes to make it big and makes her one of our Ones To Watch 2023.
