Virgin Music Label and Artist Services promotes Adam Starr to SVP/Marketing

Promoted to the position by President Jacqueline Saturn and GM Matt Sawin, Adam currently serves as Head of Marketing for the highly successful Virgin Music/CMG label. Adam Starr is an innovative marketing expert who has decades of experience in the music industry helping to create trailblazing marketing campaigns for artists signed to the company. In this expanded role, In this expanded role, Adam will continue to lead strategy, planning, and execution of all marketing campaigns as well as work in conjunction with the senior executive staff in setting parameters for the growth of Virgin Music.
In promoting Adam, Jacqueline Saturn says, “Through this past year, Adam was key in keeping our team motivated and excited about all of our partners and projects. Since joining the team as Head of Marketing, Adam has worked with and guided the marketing campaigns for labels & artists such as XXXTentacion on the landmark '?' album, Trippie Redd, and the TenThousand Projects team on six consecutive projects in under 12 months (spanning 2018-2020) all of which debuted inside the Top 5 on the Billboard Top 200 – only the second artist to have ever achieved that feat, NF on his most recent two consecutive #1 albums 'The Search' and 'Perception,' Mac DeMarco, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Rammstein, $uicideboy$ and many others.
Prior to joining Virgin, Adam did stints as an artist manager, freelance music journalist, writing features and artist interviews for Dangerous Minds, Filter and others. In the 90s he was booking and DJing a punk club at Bar Deluxe in Hollywood, CA called ¡Viva Noise!
Adam holds a BA in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the California State University of Northridge which is currently gathering dust on his bookshelf placed behind the gold and platinum records.
