UTA signs global Indian superstar AP Dhillon

Leading global talent, entertainment and sports company UTA has signed internationally recognized Indian singer, songwriter and record producer AP Dhillon for artist representation.

Dhillon is known for creating music that fuses South Indian and Western musical cultures. His music is influenced by a wide variety of genres including R&B, hip-hop, pop and rap.

Dhillon made his debut as an artist in 2019 with his single "Fake" featuring G Minxr. His 2020 release "Majhail" with Gurinder Gill subsequently peaked at #1 on the UK's official Top 20 Punjabi Music Chart. His hits "Excuses" and "Brown Munde" followed suit shortly after, peaking at #1 on the UK’s Asian and Punjabi charts. Additionally, "Brown Munde," “Excuses” and his single “Insane” all peaked at #1 on Spotify India and Apple Music India. His music has amassed over 1 billion streams, 8 million monthly listeners, and more than 1 billion YouTube views, TikTok videos and Instagram reels.

Dhillon burst out onto the live music scene with his first sold-out tour in India in late 2021. With over 30k tickets sold across 9 shows, the tour was a massive success. Fan-made videos of the concerts gained millions of views on YouTube and TikTok. He followed this with a sold-out tour in the UK with shows in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds. Additionally, he performed at 2 shows for the Dubai Expo 2020 with over 10k people at each show, where tickets sold out within 12 minutes.

Most recently, he announced his first-ever North American tour, the 2022 “Out of This World” tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 10-city run kicks off on Saturday, October 8 in Rogers Arena in Vancouver and includes shows in key markets such as Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and more. Tickets are currently on sale at livenation.com.

As Dhillon expands his global presence, UTA will help him find new opportunities across brands, film, television and other verticals. The signing demonstrates growth in UTA’s business with India and the South-Asian diaspora.

He continues to be represented by manager Kevin Buttar and attorney Miro Oballa of Taylor Oballa Murray Leyland.
