Universal Music Japan Appoints Mitsuru Koyama as Corporate Executive, Legal and Business Affairs



Universal Music Japan (UMJ), announced today that Mitsuru Koyama has been named as Corporate Executive, responsible for legal and business affairs at Universal Music Japan, effective immediately. He will be based in Tokyo and will report to Naoshi Fujikura, CEO, Universal Music Japan.  

Mr. Koyama joins UMJ from Rakuten, one of Japan's leading technology companies, specializing in eCommerce, Fintech, Mobile and cloud technology, where he most recently held the position of Head of Legal, Governance, Risk and Compliance and Privacy Officer, following nine years working as in-house counsel within the companies' Tokyo and U.S. divisions. Prior to joining Rakuten, Mr. Koyama spent four years at the Mitsui Law Firm in Tokyo.
