London-based Pause, the forward-looking creative studio owned by Universal Music Group UK, turns rare moments from music history into unique physical art forms.

Using proprietary technology, Pause allows you to easily find your favourite scene from a music video, then drill down frame by frame to find the perfect moment to create your artwork. Pause offers music fans and collectors the opportunity to own a unique, museum-quality print capturing a single frame from iconic music videos - with Aurora, Keane, Self Esteem and Jeff Goldblum pioneering this unique product offering. Each still can only be purchased once - a rare and unique collectable item.

Today’s launch, with Amy Winehouse’s You know I’m No Good, showcases Pause’s mission to turn music videos into collectible art and inspire a new generation of art collectors.

Amy Winehouse, a once in a generation talent, is rightly revered the world over for her extraordinary songwriting ability, remarkable voice and unrivalled creativity. Each print in the Amy Winehouse You Know I’m No Good video collection is a chance for Amy fans around the world to own a one-of-one, authenticated piece, capturing a single frame from the original video.

“Music videos are some of the most creative, emotional, and culturally influential pieces of visual storytelling we have,” says Steven O’Connor, Co-Founder, Pause. “Yet too often they disappear into the digital ether after release. At Pause, our mission is to resurrect these moments as art, turning single frames from iconic videos into lasting, collectible artworks. We want to give fans the opportunity to own a piece of music history, and in doing so, help people rediscover and celebrate the artistry of the music video.”

“Each print we create is a bridge between music, creativity, and the tangible world,” adds Wai Hung Young, Co-Founder, Pause. “Our goal is to elevate the music video from a transient screen experience to a collectible art form, inspiring a new generation of collectors while preserving the cultural and emotional significance of these works. The Amy Winehouse collection is one of our largest launches in the UK and a significant step in building a broader category where visual music culture is valued as art.”

Each print in the Amy Winehouse You Know I’m No Good video collection is a one-of-one, authenticated piece, capturing a single frame from the original video. Pause works closely with record labels, artists, and managers to create high-value, premium art products that celebrate music and creativity.

As part of Universal Music Group UK (UMG UK), Pause has access to extraordinary music-video assets. The process of creation is meticulous:

  1. Pause’s grading team undertakes colour and visual enhancement of the music video
  2. Test prints are then created from each scene and run through numerous cycles to achieve the best colour on paper
  3. Various modern digital enhancements improve the sharpening and resolution to find the perfect balance between the original video and a high quality print
  4. After much testing, two premium papers were chosen for the prints:
    1. A3 products use a 360gsm acid free paper from the Italian papermill, Fedrigoni. This heavyweight paper offers great quality and depth of colour
    2. The larger A2 artworks are printed using Giclee technology on archival, heavyweight Hahnemuhle photo rag paper. This premium cotton paper is widely regarded as the gold standard for gallery-quality fine art prints.
  5. Each print comes with a beautiful certificate of authentication to keep as proof that this is an official, one-of-a-kind artwork. And, where applicable, some prints are offered hand-signed and hand stamped by the artist.

Each print, produced on fine art papers sourced from prestigious mills, is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Then, fans have the option to include a premium German-made walnut or aluminium frame. These include high-grade Perspex, so the prints are protected from uv rays.

James Wheatley, Senior Director, Commercial Development & Technology, Universal Music Group (UMG) adds: “The beauty of Pause and what excites us about the proposition is that it is easy to articulate to artists, management and fans alike, everyone gets it and recognises the value. To be able to choose a favourite moment from the artist you love as a one-of-one art piece that no-one else can ever own feels truly special. Amy Winehouse’s legacy continues to resonate across generations, and we’re excited to give fans a new way to connect with her work. It’s about celebrating the creativity and artistry that went into her music videos, and recognising music videos as an important cultural medium in their own right.”

With the collectibles market - including memorabilia and antiques - reaching £23.6 billion, and projected to grow to £31.1 billion by 2030, Pause’s approach of turning iconic music-video moments into limited-edition art offers a new way to collect and celebrate cultural history. Its mission to build a new category within the creative and collectible space is inspiring a new generation of collectors and unique, story-driven collectibles. While the current focus is on music videos, Pause has ambitious plans to expand into film, gaming, TV, fashion, and sport, positioning the brand as a leader in collectible visual culture.

For every product sold, Universal Music Group UK will donate to the Amy Winehouse Foundation (a charitable company registered in England and Wales with charity number 1143740 and company number 7737209).
