UK music licensing company PPL promotes Chloe Rowlatt to Head of International11 January 2022 - Press release
UK music licensing company PPL today announces the promotion of Chloe Rowlatt to Head of International. In her new role Rowlatt will be responsible for managing PPL’s International team and ensuring strong operational relationships are maintained with the company’s unrivalled network of 105 collective management organisations (CMOs) across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America.
Rowlatt will work with PPL’s industry-leading data, technology and neighbouring rights experts to maximise the collection and distribution of international performance royalties on behalf of the company’s tens of thousands of performer and recording rightsholder members.
Rowlatt joined PPL in 2015 as Record Company Services Manager in the Member Services department and joined the International team in 2017 where she was appointed International Business Manager. She is an active champion of PPL’s equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, which includes serving as Co-Chair of the company’s internal Diversity Forum.
PPL is the world’s leading international neighbouring rights company, collecting more overseas revenue than any other CMO, administrator or agent. Over the last decade it has collected more than £500 million of international revenue. This includes £85.9 million in 2020, PPL’s second highest annual international total and down just 0.9% on the record £86.7 million collected in 2019.
Laurence Oxenbury, Director of International at PPL, said:
“I would like to congratulate Chloe on this well-deserved promotion, which recognises the hugely important role she has played in PPL’s international revenue collections, consistently hitting record annual highs in recent years.
“While our international numbers held up well over the past year, going forward we expect our international collections will be impacted by the pandemic. However, having someone with the business knowledge and industry relationships that Chloe possesses managing our International team means we are extremely well placed to successfully navigate our way through this challenging period and return to growth.”
Chloe Rowlatt, Head of International at PPL, said:
“I am proud and excited to be stepping into this role at PPL and to continue working with such a brilliant team, building on our success over recent years and delivering results for our members. This has been more important than ever since the start of the pandemic.
“Whilst the impact of the last two years presents us with a number of challenges there are also opportunities in what is a constantly evolving global market. I am looking forward to collaborating with my colleagues at CMOs around the world, who are committed to expanding the scope of collections and ensuring performers and recording rightsholders are fairly paid when their music is played.”
