The Production Music Awards 2024 opens for entries, celebrates 10 years of championing human-made music

  • The prestigious event celebrates the finest production music industry libraries and Composers from around the world.

  • Now open for entries, categories span genres across Composition and Sync.

The Production Music Awards—celebrating exceptional production music libraries and Composers—today announces its 2024 call for entries, tickets on sale and its debut outing at world-class London venue, Indigo at The O2, as it celebrates another year of growth and its tenth year of championing human-made production music.

The UK-based awards are a key platform recognising the depth and quality of modern production music and providing global exposure to the wider sync and media industries.

In line with wider industry developments, new rules for the 2024 Production Music Awards stipulate that music must be created entirely by humans to be eligible: AI-generated music is excluded. There are also expanded genre categories for more clarity on composition entries.

The entry deadline is July 26, 2024. Entries will be judged by a panel of distinguished industry experts from the broader music and sync industries with each entry presented 'blind' to optimise fairness. Nominations will be revealed on September 18, 2024.

Building on its sold-out run, the prestigious annual event will take place in its new increased-capacity home for 2024 to accommodate continued growth, gathering 350+ of the industry's finest at the premium, sought-after Indigo venue within the iconic O2 complex in Greenwich. Tickets for the November 20, 2024, awards ceremony are available now.

For 2024, the Production Music Awards categories for entry have been revamped, still broadly split into Composition and Sync strands. The Composition strand has 23 genre-specific categories for production music tracks, plus the Best Wildcard Track and the highly-contested Best Newcomer award that has previously been won by Shashwat 'Sha' Sachdev (Extreme Music), Amy McKnight (Universal Production Music) and 'Mother of Afrorave' Toya Delazy, among others. The Sync strand highlights the Best Use of Production Music across platforms including television (advertising, drama, factual, trailer), sports promo, film trailer, and digital/online advertising.

In addition to major and independent production music libraries vying for accolades, the event attracts a diverse audience of influential figures in the production music and sync industries, including libraries, media Composers, music rights and royalty organisations and Music Supervisors, coming together to celebrate excellence.

Richard Canavan, Founder of the Production Music Awards, says: "The Production Music Awards exists because of amazing music created by Composers and expertly commissioned, refined and pitched by experts at the music libraries - enhancing the experience of TV, film, advertising, games for billions of consumers around the world.

"This industry is built by talented, passionate people who care deeply about what they do. In 2024, the Production Music Awards celebrates the very human art of making music."
