The Other Songs announce team expansion

Global independent music and entertainment company The Other Songs have announced the exciting expansion of their team as they recruit music industry executives Louis Brown, joining as General Manager, and Raju Watts, joining as Financial Director.

Speaking on today’s news, founders Alastair and Billy Webber say “Raju and Louis joining The Other Songs is without doubt the biggest coup of this summer’s transfer window in music. Both are natural entrepreneurs with sharp commercial instincts, expanding our knowledge, strengthening our foundations and elevating our already exceptional team.”

Louis Brown joins The Other Songs as General Manager, continuing his work as a passionate advocate for developing artists and building innovative, future-facing artist businesses. Louis is a seasoned music industry executive with over a decade of experience across major and independent sectors. He began his career at Island Records, swiftly rising to senior digital and marketing roles and playing a key role in frontline campaigns for artists like Disclosure and Mumford & Sons. At Universal Music, he spearheaded the development of talent discovery platform Spinnup in the UK, resulting in multiple artist signings. Transitioning to the independent sector, he managed labels including Metropolis. In 2020, he joined NQ as COO & GM, expanding the team and striking partnerships with The Orchard and Sony. Under his leadership, NQ delivered multiple Top 40 recordings across the UK, Germany, and Australia, while representing a roster including Aitch, WiztheMC, Mist, and acclaimed producers WhyJay and LiTek.

Louis says “What Al, Billy, Sophia and the team have built over the past seven years is inspiring. I greatly admire their authentic approach to working with talent, and I’m excited to step in as General Manager to help lead The Other Songs into its next chapter."

Raju Watts joins The Other Songs as Financial Director and is a highly commercial finance executive with over 20 years of experience leading financial strategy, transformation, and growth within the music, entertainment, and media industries. Known for his entrepreneurial vision and ability to drive operational change, he has consistently delivered improved profitability and long-term value. At Universal Music Group, Raju served as Finance Director of Island Records and Finance & Commercial Director of Decca Records and Publishing, where he delivered record-breaking EBITDA growth and revitalised underperforming labels. As CFO at Ministry of Sound Group, he was instrumental in the $100m sale of Ministry of Sound Recordings to Sony Music, developing and deploying predictive models while overseeing complex organisational restructures. His career also includes roles at PR firms Publicis and College Hill Associates, as well as indie labels like Underwater Records and Southern Fried. Raju is known for building high-performing teams and embedding cultures of accountability, combining financial expertise with strategic insight across global entertainment businesses.

Raju Watts comments “I am delighted to be joining The Other Songs. The label group has built a reputation for creative excellence and innovation, underpinned by an incredible roster of artists and songwriters. After speaking with Al and Billy, the founders, I knew that our combined vision and ethos were completely aligned. I look forward to applying my experience in financial strategy and operational growth to support its next phase of development. Working alongside the team, my focus will be on building sustainable structures that enable the business to scale while continuing to deliver exceptional results for its talent.”
