The Music Producers Guild announce Inspiration Award Winner



 

The Music Producers Guild, in association with Dolby & Mix with Masters are delighted to announce Grammy Award winning, mastering engineer Emily Lazar as winner of the 2024 MPG Inspiration Award. 

This prestigious award, sponsored by Audio Note, is given to a professional who, in the opinion of the MPG Awards board of directors, is responsible for work that has significantly inspired others. Previous recipients have included Imogen Heap, Nile Rodgers, Roni Size, Skepta, Damon Albarn, Sylvia Massy and Linda Perry.

Lazar’s genre-defying discography of more than 4,000 albums boasts collaborations with icons David BowieLou Reed, and Alanis Morissette, as well as luminaries such as Coldplay, HAIM, Beck, Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend, Sia, The Killers, Bjork, Tiesto, Destiny’s Child, Depeche Mode, RZAWeezerBomba Estereo, LeAnnRimesMaggie Rogers, and virtually everyone in between.

Ever forward-facing and driven by her keen interest in pushing technical boundaries, Lazar has welcomed the world of surround and immersive audio and its evolving formats. Highlights from her immersive credits include The Rolling Stones’ Goats Head Soup, the 50th Anniversary releases of The Beatles’ legendary albums, Abbey RoadLet It BeSgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Revolver, as well as Paul McCartney's incredible album trilogy, McCartney III and III

Emily Lazar said: “There is nothing more gratifying than being recognized by one’s peers. I owe my deep gratitude to the remarkable artists I've collaborated with, whose talent and trust have propelled me forward, and to the friends and colleagues whose guidance has been invaluable in navigating this industry. I am truly grateful to everyone at the MPG for this acknowledgment. Receiving this award is a profound honour for me.”

This announcement comes ahead of the annual awards ceremony on 25th April at new venue, The Troxy, London E1 0HX. The awards will be hosted by Apple Music Presenter, Nada.
