28 August 2025 - Press releaseThe Cat's Mother Network teams up with UTA for 'Breaking Into Live' event on Tuesday 2nd September
Exclusive evening of insight and connection in partnership with UTA’s La Femme Majeure group to support young female identifying people looking to develop career opportunities within the music industry
The Cat’s Mother Network, the not-for-profit music industry mentoring and networking service founded by Natalie Wade in 2019, today announces that it has teamed up leading global talent, sports, entertainment and music agency UTA for its next in-person event, ‘Breaking Into Live’, taking place at UTA’s London offices on Tuesday 2nd September.
This exclusive evening of insight and connection, in partnership with La Femme Majeure - a UTA organisation and event series dedicated to bringing together music’s next generation of female leaders - will see leading industry professionals share their journeys, tips and behind the scenes advice on breaking into the music scene. It is the latest event hosted by The Cat’s Mother Network in support of young female identifying people aged 18-25 looking to develop their career opportunities and make invaluable connections from other women across the industry.
For La Femme Majeure, this event in partnership with The Cat’s Mother Network, follows the International Women’s Day brunch and networking gathering it put on earlier in the year, bringing together women from all corners of the UK music industry, across all levels of seniority.
Charlotte-Anne Myler, co-chair of The Cat’s Mother board, commented: “The Cat’s Mother is an important force that can really help shape the trajectory of those trying to enter the music industry. We provide community, comfort and invaluable knowledge in a space where that is not always accessible, especially to those in minority groups. Our in person support via 121 meetings and events are the foundation of our service and we are incredibly excited to host our next event with UTA and give our community access to the brilliant minds working within live music.”
Anaya Masonde, Music Assistant at UTA and member of La Femme Majeure, London added: “I began my career as an intern at UTA and know how important mentorship and visibility are when starting out. The Cat’s Mother does such vital work in opening doors for young women, and as a member of LFM at UTA we’re proud to support that. This event is a chance to share experiences, offer guidance, and inspire the next generation of women in live music.”
Places to attend ‘Breaking Into Live’ are still available, for further information please contact laura@catsmother.co.uk.
2025 has seen The Cat’s Mother Network further develop its mentoring support offering, with its first regional event in Bristol with BIMM and an International Women’s Month event at Amazon Music’s London headquarters, as part of a wider collaborative partnership to make the creative industries more accessible for young women. With the aim of connecting young women from low income backgrounds to professional established women within the music industry, over 125 “Cat’s Mothers” are currently on the books, representing different roles within the industry from marketing to management, legal to licensing, PR to publishing. The Cat's Mother Network has delivered over 500 mentor meetings to date (with 160 undertaken so far this year alone).
