TEAC & gigmit team up to release the music of tomorrow in a unique way

TEAC and gigmit collaborated in a project featuring six out of 200,000 international artists to showcase the essence of tomorrow's music on a limited edition vinyl. The record will be released at IFA Berlin 2022.

TEAC is ready to reveal the first volume of the "Recording Tomorrow" vinyl, aiming to reveal what will be tomorrow's music in a unique partnership with gigmit.
This partnership is remarkable and forward-seeing because gigmit and TEAC joined their forces: gigmit used its knowledge of current music trends, data and its ever-growing pool of talented artists and managed the search for such acts. TEAC, on its end, brought together their expertise in audio manufacturing and the spirit they wanted this record to have. TEAC is breaking with traditional role models by releasing a record and not being a record company but an electronics manufacturing brand; a quite forward-thinking approach. Here, even if different genres are represented, it's still worth noting a strong tendency: Artists of tomorrow address contemporary problems of our society in different ways. As opposed to love songs, the selection of the Recording of tomorrow limited edition vinyl contains a voice that the next generation wants the world to change for the better and this is what makes it the music of tomorrow.

That is why, in collaboration with six emerging artists, they developed a vinyl sampler that offers a teaser of what today's and tomorrow's music sounds like. The vinyl features the artists Tribe Mafia (US), Telegraph (FR), Meresha (PL/US), Sean Haefeli (DE/US), Keitu the Songbird (GB) and KIDSØ (DE). The record then describes a musical journey as well as a geographical one, as the musical inspirations come from many different cultures and places.

"I am thrilled to see this amazing record come to life out of a project that represents what we do at gigmit - open opportunities to the world of live acts. Huge thanks to the amazing team at TEAC for kicking this off." says Marcus Fitzgerald, CEO of gigmit.

IFA Berlin is the best suited event to reveal this limited edition record. It is the meeting point of all kinds of actors from the music industry and many groundbreaking innovations have been showcased for the first time there, such as the first car radio or even mobile telephones (1989). Thus, it is a meaningful location to introduce what is meant to be an innovation resulting from a new and forward-thinking partnership.

"The original idea for the project emerged during one of many lockdowns as we were looking for ways to support artists and promote our unique portfolio of turntables. Recording Tomorrow VOL01 is hopefully the start of a series of records between TEAC, gigmit and talented artists." says Hubert Eiter, CMO of Aqipa, the responsible and exclusive distributor for TEAC in Europe. To celebrate the launch, TEAC is giving away a free album for every turntable purchased in September on www.teac-audio.com.
