TAPONESWA MAVUNGA ARRIVES AS HEAD OF PUBLICITY & FRAZER LAWTON JOINS AS SENIOR PRESS OFFICER

Columbia Records UK have announced the arrival of two key members of their press and publicity team.

 

Taponeswa Mavunga joins Columbia as Head Of Publicity

She has been recruited from Viacom Africa after spending a year as Head Of Talent and Music across MTV, MTV Base and the recently launched [in Africa] BET channels.

Prior to this, she was Senior Publicity Manager at Atlantic Records UK where she oversaw numerous campaigns over the years, including JAY Z, Estelle, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental, for which she won a Music Week Award for Best PR Campaign in 2014.

Taponeswa says: “To be heading up the publicity department for Columbia is a huge honour and I’m very excited about the future and what it holds.”

Frazer Lawton began his career as a press assistant at Mercenary Publicity in 2008. In 2010, he joined Murray Chalmers PR as publicist before being promoted to senior publicist and working on acts as diverse as Tom Odell, Interpol, Raleigh Ritchie and Patrick Wolf. Frazer was then most recently employed as senior publicist at INSIDE/OUT.

Frazer says: “It’s been a huge aspiration of mine for a long time to be part of the Columbia team. So to be working alongside Taponeswa with some of the world’s most talented artists is a genuine dream come true.”
