StrmMusic Joins Forces With Breaking Sound, Kicks Off US and Live Music Expansion

StrmMusic, the music career accelerator, is now the official distribution partner of Breaking Sound, the live showcase organization dedicated to highlighting emerging artists in premium venues. To kick off the partnership, the two organizations are announcing a showcase at LA's Peppermint Club on July 15.

The night will feature sets by pop-reggae singer, producer, and member of Magic!, Mark Pelli; neo-soul singer, saxophonist and producer Alex Charles; SoCal pop singer-songwriter Tanner Howe; and a guest artist to be announced by Breaking Sound. (Doors open at 7; tickets can be purchased here.)

This night at the Peppermint Club will be the first of many showcases around the country. StrmMusic will curate artists to play one of Breaking Sound's 100+ monthly showcases across more than 100 markets, eventually leading to a series of cobranded shows that tap serious local talent in key cities later this summer. These are more than showcases; they will be opportunities for independent artists to register with both companies and leapfrog some common hurdles artists face. The two companies will also roll out a series of online workshops and self-paced educational materials that encourage artists to craft a stronger live strategy. Finally, StrmMusic and Breaking Sound will share select data to better serve artists and offer relevant suggestions of where to play when.

"This partnership will promote our mission to empower independent artists," says Geoff Cubitt, CEO, North America of StrmMusic. "By joining forces with Breaking Sound, we can offer our artists unparalleled opportunities for live-music growth and visibility in cooperation with a partner that really gets what emerging artists need. We both envision a better, bolder music industry that works for more music makers and music lovers."

Matching true talent and new possibilities is what sets StrmMusic apart in a crowded artist services market. The company has developed proven, data-driven methods for boosting independent music livelihoods, forging a real path to stardom via their proprietary artist career stage model. StrmMusic analyzes an artist's streaming, social, and other stats and assigns artists one of ten career stages. Artists and their teams can then make informed business decisions. To support them, StrmMusic offers recommendations to boost just the areas where the artist needs more energy, thanks to its conversational virtual assistant Quincy.

Live music is now part of this equation. Playing live is one of the key avenues for artists to grow their audience and supercharge their careers. Insights into a better approach to performing and touring will be an important next set of features for StrmMusic, adding to its robust offerings for distribution, advances, promotion, and analytics. Breaking Sound's expertise in major markets around the world will enrich StrmMusic's capabilities as the partnership unfolds.

Calvin Golspink, founder and CEO of Breaking Sound, says, "We've seen how live shows change the way potential fans feel about artists they've just met. It's something that happens regularly at Breaking Sound showcases. We're thrilled to partner with StrmMusic to give artists a comprehensive platform that expands their options, their knowledge, and their audiences. Live showcases can catalyze music careers, and this partnership will offer more chances for this to happen."
