StrmMusic Appoints Geoff Cubitt CEO of StrmMusic North America amid Global Expansion

Digital innovation leader takes the helm to accelerate StrmMusic’s growth in the US and Canada, establishes HQ in Chicago

StrmMusic, the smart label supercharging artists’ trajectories, has announced the appointment of Geoff Cubitt as CEO of StrmMusic North America. The company is establishing its North American headquarters in the centrally located, musically vibrant city of Chicago.

With decades of experience leading digital transformation for global enterprises, Cubitt steps into this pivotal role as the company expands its presence in the US and Canadian markets and brings AI-driven career management, digital distribution, and credit advances to more creators. A two-time Purdue University Hall Of Fame honoree and Stanford University graduate, Cubitt brings a wealth of expertise in innovation, organizational leadership, and entrepreneurship. Over his 30-year career, he has spearheaded digital transformation for major brands including HBO, Adidas, JP Morgan Chase, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and the U.S. Air Force. A visionary in the digital landscape, Cubitt co-founded pioneering digital agency Roundarch, which later became Isobar US.

Under his leadership, Isobar became one of the world’s largest and most successful digital agencies. The company was recognized as a “Leader” in Gartner’s Digital Agency Magic Quadrant and Forrester Research’s Digital Experience Service Provider Wave, as well as one of Forrester's Top 10 Innovation Agencies, earning accolades such as Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies: Top 10 VR/AR and the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Best Digital Craft. Isobar’s expertise also led to historical firsts in music tech innovation: In 2009, the agency created a custom music streaming mobile app for Wilco, a first for established artists looking to stream their entire music catalog.

“Geoff’s track record in digital innovation and strategic growth makes him the ideal leader to drive our expansion in North America,” says Fernando Gabriel, Global CEO of StrmMusic. “His expertise will be paramount in scaling our platform and amplifying our impact on artists in the region.”

Cubitt will lead StrmMusic’s North American efforts from the company’s new headquarters in Chicago, at the city’s entertainment and tech hub, 2112. “In addition to being centrally located between music centers such as LA, NYC, and Nashville, Chicago is one of the top music cities in the U.S.,” Cubitt notes. “It also has a strong base of tech companies and resources. That put Chicago on the radar for us, but what put it over the top is 2112/Fort Knox, a unique hub of the Chicago music and tech ecosystem. 2112 provides the perfect environment for us to quickly plug in and continue our innovative impact on musical artist development through AI, data analytics and financial support.”

Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson welcomes StrmMusic’s decision to locate its headquarters at 2112 and join Chicago’s growing music tech community. “StrmMusic’s decision to call Chicago home reinforces what we already know—our city is where the future of music, tech, and entrepreneurship converge,” said Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. “StrmMusic represents the kind of bold, creative energy that thrives here. Our diverse economy, world-class talent, and central location—along with innovation hubs like 2112—make Chicago the perfect launchpad for companies rewriting the rules. We proudly welcome StrmMusic and congratulate Chicagoland’s own Geoff Cubitt on this exciting next chapter.”

Cubitt’s appointment reinforces StrmMusic’s commitment to global expansion, ensuring that more artists access cutting-edge tools for independence and success in the streaming era. He expressed his enthusiasm for Strm Music, saying, “Strm has built a market-leading, AI-driven platform that supports artists by helping them manage the business of music so they can focus on their calling. What really attracted me was the combination of technology and the great team of musicians and music lovers who are passionate about growing artists' careers.”
