Stradebase: British fintech-meets-music company launches new fan-first royalty trading platform
01 October 2025 - Press releaseStradebase: British fintech-meets-music company launches new fan-first royalty trading platform allowing superfans to invest directly into their favourite artists.
Skepta & JME first to join the platform where music fans become business partners
Multimillion streaming music creators Skepta and JME champion Stradebase as the “future of music” for independent artists. Soft launched in June 2025, Stradebase has already on boarded global artists including Wretch 32, Jammer and Tiwa Savage. The platform and app are leaning into the power of superfans where music creators can retain financial autonomy while creating a liquid marketplace for music assets.
As labels continue chasing data and superfans, Stradebase is leveraging what they already know superfans want, a piece of the pie and to get closer to the artist they are already invested in.
How StradeBase Works:
• Direct-to-Fan Fractional Ownership: Artists retain 100% creative and streaming control.
• Real-Time Passive Revenue: Investors earn monthly payouts from streaming royalties.
• Tradable Music Assets: Secondary market functionality provides stock-style liquidity.
• Accessible Entry Point: JME offered 100 shares of ‘Integrity’ at £1 per share for its 10th anniversary.
Dwight Okechukwu, founder, Stradebase says “I’ve experienced the blocks around funding in the music industry for independent artists and the red tape behind label investment and felt that this could be much easier. Often, indie artists may only need £5k - £20K and they can generate that via our platform where artists can use their leverage and royalty income to generate upfront capital for future works. This empowers both artists and fans to interact in a financially meaningful way and by creating a win-win situation. I believe in the power of community, fans and with this level of authenticity, this is a game changer”.
Multi award winning artist Skepta adds, “From early on in my career, I’ve always looked for ways to stay connected with the fans and the communities that built me. This is just the next step. A way for them to be involved not just in the music, but in the mission. Dwight mentioned this idea to me over three years ago and I said straight away it was revolutionary. Now to see it built and working, I can say with confidence it’s the future. I’m in this not just to sell, but to give back to my fans financially and invest in the next generation of talent. I’ve seen the shifts in technology, music and how people consume it. As a creative I know fans want to be closer than ever, and this is me embracing that evolution, on my own terms”.
UK Grime icon and CEO of Boy Better Know, JME says, “Anyone that knows me knows, knows that I’ve always been about innovation and thinking outside the box. I like dealing directly with the fans, giving them access, that’s what I’m passionate about. This whole concept is genius, It’s just sick. I can literally record a track today and let my fans earn with me for a period. Makes me feel less selfish knowing some of them have actually benefited from my music. It’s not one-sided anymore. Strade Base is a movement towards real artist ownership. It cuts out the noise in the industry and takes it back to the core of why we even do this… the fans. For the 10-year anniversary of ‘Integrity’ I put up 100 shares of the track at £1 each and they sold out almost instantly. I’m about to list my second track ‘UP’ so look out for that”.
Although fractional ownership isn’t a new concept, it is current. Where artists including Taylor Swift are reclaiming their rights and ownership, labels are moving from music to becoming data companies and the increase of AI artists, Stradebase offers a solution and a simple on at that with an easy-to-use app running in real-time. The first time that fans and artists can do business directly.
Artists on Stradebase can decide how much and what they offer their fans and can set a number of royalty shares for fans to purchase. They are represented in the app as digital trading cards with additional benefits including early concert access, limited edition merch and more.
