Songfox Taps Musical AI as Partner in New AI-Powered Music Creation Platform
28 May 2025 - Press release
Soon-to-launch music creation startup is linking forces with the leading AI rights management platform for music.
Songfox, a new Sweden-based generative AI startup offering powerful creative possibilities to music lovers, is teaming up with Musical AI to ensure its data is properly licensed and its outputs honor rightsholders. Together, they are setting a new standard for generative AI, demonstrating that tech innovation and artists' rights can work hand in hand to unlock music making for more people.
Songfox has a mission to enable an innovative approach to co-creation between fans and artists/producers through generative AI. Songfox lets music makers generate and then tweak full songs, complete with AI-assisted lyrics and a library of licensed voices.
Songfox will use Musical AI's secure platform to train its models based on fully cleared music catalogs, ensuring that all data remains ethically sourced and fairly remunerated. Musical AI will track outputs and, using its proprietary attribution technology, will give full reports of what data contributed to each generated song. These reports will allow Songfox to pay rightsholders.
"Songfox is showing how innovators can do right by both music makers and rightsholders," explains Musical AI CEO Sean Power. "They are proving that generative AI and fair data practices are not mutually exclusive, but mutually beneficial. We see this as the future of AI and we're eager to work with Songfox to bring this vision to fruition." Musical AI has helped build this future by working with publishing administrators, sound libraries, distributors, and generative AI companies in a series of partnerships that lean on the company's innovative, secure approach to data, training, and attribution.
"We love music and the people who make it, and that's why we have pursued this path in partnership with Musical AI," says Hannes Bernhardsson, founder and CEO of Songfox. "We believe generative AI can add a great deal of value to music, not only by opening up music making to more and more people, but also by supporting artists and rightsholders with every generated song and licensed voice."
