Seven UK acts will play at this year’s Zandari Festa as part of Sound City Korea 2019.

The Sherlocks, Wooze, Too Many T’s, TXT, The Tea Street Band, Scarlet and Two Weeks In Nashville have all been chosen to make the trip to the Korean festival, which takes place between 26 – 29 September.

Sound City is supported using public funding by Arts Council England and this year the showcase will be in collaboration with Fred Perry Subculture.

Sound City Korea, part of the Liverpool-based Sound City brand, is a pioneering programme for musicians and industry professionals that targets Korea - a rapidly emerging and increasingly important international market with an annual spend of $53m on music and digital content, widely regarded as a gateway to a wider Asian market.

The main aim of Sound City Korea is to secure impactful international deals for artists and their management via a series of networking events at Zandari conference.

Over its first four years, Sound City Korea, part funded by Arts Council England, supported 80 artists and industry professionals in attending Zandari Festa.

In the lead up to Zandari this year, Sound City will run workshops in both Liverpool and Manchester for the chosen artists to prepare themselves for their trip. The workshops will feature a panel of experts who will explore the complexities of international touring, the Korean music market and how to navigate funding. A select group of guests who have previously attended South Korea with Sound City will also advise the seven acts on how to utilise networking opportunities to make themselves known and make the most out of this unique experience.

Sound City is the brand responsible for organising a range of boutique music, media and technology festivals and conferences around the world. Since its inception, it has designed, delivered, marketed and hosted events in cities on three continents that range from a series of shows, conferences and product and service launches, to full music and arts festivals and creative and digital industries conferences. Sound City consistently delivers high quality, high calibre events that have been acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. Sound City-owned events include Liverpool Sound City festival and conference, Dubai Sound City, Tromso Sound City, New York Sound City, Gateway to the Asian Music Markets, Sound City Korea and Sounds of the Xity, Beijing, China.
