Sarah Woods appointed Director of Communications & Business Services by Help Musicians

Help Musicians CEO James Ainscough announced today the appointment of Sarah Woods into the new position of Director of Communications and Business Services at the charity.

The recently-advertised role is newly created, connecting communications with I.T. and Human Resources.

Sarah has over twenty years' experience within the charity sector, with most of her career spent at the Royal Albert Hall, where she held the roles of Director of External Affairs and Director of Customer Relations leading the communications, marketing, digital and visitor experience areas of the business.  As Director of External Affairs, Sarah oversaw development of the venue's strategy for communications, marketing, I.T and ticketing strategy and led major projects to improve the charity's profile, online capabilities, service offer and commercial income.

Sarah joined Help Musicians in December 2018 as Interim Director of External Affairs. After a full recruitment process, she was appointed Director of Communications & Business Services in May 2019 and has taken up the post with immediate effect.

Help Musicians CEO, James Ainscough said of the appointment: "I am delighted to appoint Sarah Woods, who joins the charity at a pivotal time in its near 100-year history. She now completes our Executive Team and brings with her a wealth of experience in communications, marketing and events. She has an excellent track record in running complex I.T. projects and she is a natural values-driven leader. 2018 saw us help more musicians than ever before and we expect this trend to continue. Sarah will help us grow awareness of what we do, equip our motivated and talented team with tools to work more efficiently, build collaborative partnerships and generate income. Sarah will be a huge asset to the charity as we approach our centenary year in 2021."

Sarah Woods, Director of Communications and Business Services at Help Musicians UK added"Over the last few months, I've seen first-hand how hard the entire staff team work to understand and respond to the challenges faced by musicians and I'm absolutely delighted to be joining such a committed team. Help Musicians is a charity with an extraordinary history. The centenary in 2021 offers a fantastic opportunity to use our communications to reach more people than ever before with the message that Help Musicians is here for all emerging, professional and retired musicians, offering a broad programme in order to provide a lifetime of support, when it is needed most."
