RuthAnne to Host TikTok LIVE Songwriting Session with KiD RAiN for #SummerSkills Music Week

This August, TikTok LIVE is giving fans a rare front-row seat to the magic of hitmaking, inviting them into the writing room with one of Ireland's finest songwriters - RuthAnne (@thisisruthanne) - the powerhouse behind smash hits for Britney Spears, One Direction, Martin Garrix, Niall Horan, JoJo, and many more.
As part of TikTok's #SummerSkills programme, TikTok is turning up the volume with a one-off, interactive TikTok LIVE songwriting session, where RuthAnne will join forces with rising pop sensation KiD RAiN (@iamkidrain) to create a brand-new song from scratch. On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, from 5–6pm (BST), the multi-platinum & Grammy nominated songwriter will go LIVE to create a brand-new song from scratch in front of a global audience.
Streaming directly via RuthAnne's TikTok (@thisisruthanne) and the TikTok LIVE UK (@tiktok_uk) account, the session will invite viewers inside the creative process as the duo brainstorm melodies, craft lyrics, and bring a completely original track to life in real time. Fans will also be able to engage through live chat, asking questions and sharing ideas as the song takes shape.
RuthAnne's career spans chart-topping hits for global icons including Britney Spears (Work Bitch), One Direction (No Control), Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha (In the Name of Love), Niall Horan (Slow Hands), and JoJo (Too Little Too Late). As an artist she has built her own following with heartfelt ballads like The Vow and a dedicated TikTok audience that love her behind-the-scenes songwriting insights with personal storytelling.
KiD RAiN, whose catchy hooks and relatable lyrics have earned him millions of streams and a 408,000 strong TikTok following, brings fresh pop sensibility and infectious energy to the collaboration. An artist, songwriter, and producer from the north of England, he is rapidly making waves as one of the UK's most exciting new pop talents, with breakout hits like Accidentally in Love proving a TikTok favourite having been used in over 75,000 posts.
The event is part of Music Week, one of five themed weeks in TikTok's #SummerSkills campaign. Running over the summer holidays, the campaign encourages teens to discover new interests and develop creative skills. Each week focuses on a different theme - from sport to science, music to wellbeing - with leading creators and interactive TikTok LIVEs bringing topics to life.
How to join: On 20 August at 5pm BST, open TikTok, search for "RuthAnne" or "TikTok LIVE UK," and enter the live room to watch—and participate in—the songwriting session.
