Rolling Stone Brings Its Marquee SXSW Showcase to London

Rolling Stone today announced the expansion of its celebrated Future of Music showcase to South by Southwest^® (SXSW^®) London. Future of Music UK will be a special two-night, underground showcase featuring the buzziest UK-based artists who are shaping the next generation of music. The showcase will take place on June 4 and June 5 2025 at the historic Hoxton Hall in Shoreditch, London. Headlining performances will feature the high-energy English punk-pop rock band The K’s and the UK-based, Afro-Caribbean-inspired indie pop trio Cassia. Additional supporting acts include GIRLBAND!, Shambolics, The Kites, Baby Said, Cucamaras, Charlotte OC, The Lilacs, Bentley Robles, Salvana, and Stay In Nothing.

The Future of Music UK echoes the original mission of Rolling Stone’s marquee SXSW showcase: to champion what’s new and what’s next in music. The series, taking place at the inaugural European edition of the SXSW brand, will spotlight incredible artists spanning rock, alternative, indie, and pop, connecting fans with fresh voices in UK music.

SXSW London’s Music Festival will dive into international underground music scenes, offering a glimpse into the future of music from London's unique perspective. Co-curated by world-class and cutting-edge pioneers, each venue will transport you into a different musical movement. A launchpad for emerging artists and a platform for discovery, audiences can expect multi-genre live showcases, industry meetups and networking opportunities across Shoreditch. The festival brings the world to Shoreditch in a unique multi-venue format including both renowned names and emerging talent.

As part of the wider festival, Shoreditch Town Hall will host The House of R&B, a week-long series spotlighting emerging and international talent in R&B, including performances by Mabel, Sasha Keable, NAO, Miraa May and Sienna Spiro. Elsewhere, theCaribbean Music House will take over Strongrooms from Thursday with standout performances from artists across the Caribeean diaspora, including Lila Iké and Seani B’s Bruk Out session, followed by a takeover by City Splash Festival on Friday.

Shoreditch Town Hall will also host the Future of Classical Music Series with showcases including Classical: Next, and across the festival a series of showcases with spotlight queer music featuring platforms such as Queer Alt Music and Wraith. Village Underground and XOYO will spotlight diasporic electronic music and community clubbing with showcases with appearances, from Alice Glass, Mono and Shubbak Festival, which will debut an immersive AV performance by Saliah.
