The Richard Antwi Scholarship has been established in memory of much-loved music industry figure, Richard Antwi, with the intention of continuing his legacy.   

Following the scholarship’s launch in November 2017, the Friends Of Richard Antwi and University of Westminster are pleased to announce: a workshop for potential applicants and anybody interested in finding out more; confirmation that the scholarship will be available annually until at least 2023, and that applications are now open for the 2018 / 2019 academic year.  

The news follows the second anniversary of Richard’s death (11th February).  


Workshop info:
The workshop will take place on 3rd March from 1pm to 3pm at The University of Westminster, Cavendish Campus - 115 New Cavendish St, London, W1W 6XH.  The event is open to all.  

Scholarship to continue until 2023:
Thanks to the generous support of key players in the music industry – which so far include: Island Records, Young Turks / XL Recordings, Universal Music Group, Sony Music, Warner Music, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Clintons law firm – the Richard Antwi Scholarship will continue to be awarded annually until at least 2023.  The Friends Of Richard Antwi and University of Westminster are working to make the scholarship available annually well beyond this time too.

More on Richard Antwi:
Richard Antwi was a much-loved and widely-respected music manager, lawyer and entrepreneur who played a pivotal role in the careers of Wretch 32, Lethal Bizzle, Daley, Wiley, Tinie Tempah and others.  His untimely death in 2016, at the age of just 38, triggered a flood of tributes from across the music industry.  
Having grown up in north west London in a Ghanaian family, Richard went to a local comprehensive school then on to study law at the University of Oxford.  He regularly mentored young entrepreneurs in the B.A.M.E. community, and contributed to the MA in Music Business Management course at the University of Westminster as a guest speaker.

The Richard Antwi Scholarship has been established by Friends Of Richard Antwi (a loose collective of friends) and the University of Westminster in memory of much-loved music industry figure, Richard Antwi, with the intention of continuing his legacy.  
The scholarship provides full support to a student on the highly regarded MA in Music Business Management course at the University of Westminster, covering tuition fees, a contribution to living expenses and includes an opportunity to undertake work experience.  The opportunity is aimed at talent from the UK B.A.M.E. community, and those in financial need - applicants don’t need to be graduates, but should, like Richard, have a passion for music and entrepreneurial spirit.
