Rianne Gordon launches Maroon Agency alongside AdWeek win

Rianne Gordon has launched maroon, a marketing & creative agency delivering campaigns in the entertainment industry. Last night, Rianne was a winner of Advertising Week’s Future is Female award, which “recognise[s] women who are defining the future of the marketing and creative industry.”

With a core offering centred around project management, traditional and digital marketing, and creative commissioning, maroon seeks to develop artists and brands, and cultivate communities.

Rianne has over 10 years of experience, beginning with brands such as McDonald’s, Diageo and Meta, whilst more recently working with music companies globally. This includes Good Soldier Songs and Columbia Records in the UK, EMPIRE in the US, Soul Circle in Jamaica and Mavin in Nigeria. She’s worked on domestic music campaigns for the likes of Kwengface, WSTRN and yxngxr1, American artists including Yung Bleu, Aaliyah and iyla, as well as Caribbean and African artists such as Chronixx, Omah Lay and Wande Coal.

“Though I’ve worked with a mix of artists and brand teams, I’ve previously kept a low profile, so it’s incredible to be officially launching maroon alongside winning the Future is Female award! They represent the best in-class across all industries, so I’m very humbled and excited for what’s to come. For maroon, we’ve already begun working with teams in the UK, US and west Africa, and there’s some amazing projects in the pipeline for The Black Book,” expresses Rianne.

The Black Book was launched by Rianne in 2020 and is now managed by maroon. It’s a creative pladorm championing black talent across myriad specialisms including styling, photography and art direction. Since inception, it’s had support from: Apple, Adidas, Sony Music, Christie’s the art auction house, the National Portrait Gallery and others. It’s recently launched a mentoring programme for black creatives in the UK and Africa, has a partnership with Soho House in the works and longer-term plans to become a recognised and trusted resource for teams to outsource creative projects through.
