Razorlight partner with Absolute for new album

Iconic indie rock outfit Razorlight have partnered with Absolute Label Services to power the campaign for their next studio album, due for release in 2020.

The yet to be titled album will be released on Atlantic Culture Records with Absolute providing full label services support including marketing, sales, distribution and more for the world.

New single, Cops And Robbers, was released in late July.

Razorlight are one of the most successful UK bands of the Noughties, releasing three Top 5 albums between 2004 and 2008: Up All Night (No.3), Razorlight (No.1) and Slipway Fires (No.4).

Cops And Robbers is the band’s first new material since their 2018 comeback album Olympus Sleeping.

They will be playing Victorious Festival in the UK this summer, plus a host of shows across Europe, as well as being special guests of the Kaiser Chiefs on their January UK tour.

Senior Label Manager Kate Hendry said: “Razorlight are a fixture of indie rock, and we are really excited by the music so far. The calibre of creativity coming from one of the hardest working bands in the live business has really inspired us and we are looking forward to implementing some bespoke digital marketing strategies, together with traditional retail and D2C marketing, which we think will kick our campaign into action nicely.”

Blackbook Management’s Roger Morton said: “It’s really exciting to be working with Absolute for Razorlight’s fifth studio album. The level of service and creative support they provide was really attractive, especially in the digital arena. We're very much looking forward to launching our D2C offering for the album pre-order in October, all supported by some serious live activity with the rest of the festival circuit this summer, moving into an arena tour with our friends Kaiser Chiefs and then onto a headline tour to support the album release.”

Founded in 1998, Absolute is one of the world’s most established independent label services companies. It has a varied client base, having worked on high profile album releases from artists and labels including Steps, All Saints, Jake Shears, Kim Wilde, Alice Cooper, The Overtones, 67, Dappy, Ay Em, RAM Records, Ferris & Sylvester, Bananarama and many more in recent years.
