Rakesh Patel joins Spotify as Head of Sales for the UK

Spotify can confirm that Rakesh Patel is set to join Spotify as Head of Sales for Spotify UK. Rak - who starts the new role in November - will be responsible for leading Spotify’s sales team in the UK, reporting into the VP of Sales for Europe, Marco Bertozzi, and will be based in Spotify’s London office.

Rak brings to Spotify 18 years’ of industry experience, having most recently worked at Auto Trader in the role of Advertising Director. Prior to Auto Trader, he spent seven years in sales management roles at Microsoft.

Whilst at Auto Trader Rak helped transform the display business, delivering data driven marketing solutions and insights to brands. He was recognised for his efforts by being awarded Commercial Director of the year in 2015 at the IPA’s Media Owner Awards.

Rak joins Zuzanna Gierlinska who recently joined as Head of Programmatic for Europe and Louise McCarthy as Senior Sales trainer as Spotify continues to grow the leadership team across Europe.
